Dupreez & Thornton Jones

Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones' images create feelings of discomfort because they belong to two different spheres: the natural and the imaginary, photography and a digital palette; in other words, they lie where nature meets technology. There is something of the home-made ethic about Preez and Thornton Jones, both in their choice of shots and in the digital and colour manipulation. Their images, which are both photographs and modern paintings, plunge us into colourful auras and arouse
strange sensations in us. Perhaps what is most surprising is the photographers' ability to go from a holographic image to designing a skateboard to a portrait of Björk to an image created for a luxury brand. But talent knows no bounds.
